The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined
to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant proves
too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve
as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her
growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of
spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain, and they
marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover that
Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's
immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow escape over the
mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of
the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the
theatre. The motion picture version remains the most popular movie
musical of all time. |

A message from
the director:
I would like to
thank the 54 children and 28 adults that auditioned for The Sound
of Music despite all the weather-related issues. I was
completely amazed at the quality of the talent, which made my
decision extremely difficult. Those of you that were not cast, you
all did an exceptional job. Even with a cast as large as The
Sound of Music, there simply are not enough roles for all the
talent we encountered. I encourage you to continue to audition at
BCT and other community theaters in Kitsap County, who always have
many opportunities for performers. Of all of those that auditioned
only a few were familiar to me, and I am excited to state that we
have a cast of fresh new faces to myself and BCT along with a few
familiar faces. Thank you for your patience as we worked through
the large numbers of talent so that all had an equal opportunity to
audition. That being said, I am proud to announce the following
Cast of The Sound of Music.
